Style has no formula, but it has a secret key. It is the extension of your personality. The summation of this indefinable net of your feeling, knowledge and experience.

The idea that we live life in a straight line, like a story, seems to me to be increasingly absurd and, more than anything, a kind of intellectual convenience.

The truth of a thing is the feel of it, not the think of it.

Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation.

For one human being to love another; that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation. I hold this to be the highest task for a bond between two people: That each protects the solitude of the other. This is the miracle that happens every time to those who really love: The more they give, the more they possess.
— Rainer Maria Rilke

Every man carries within himself a world made up of all that he has seen and loved; and it is to this world that he returns, incessantly, though he may pass through and seem to inhabit a world quite foreign to it.

The object of the artist is the creation of the beautiful. What the beautiful is is another question.

I think it's important to realize you can miss something, but not want it back.

Human relationships were strange. I mean, you were with one person a while, eating and sleeping and living with them, loving them, talking to them, going places together, and then it stopped. Then there was a short period when you weren't with anybody, then another woman arrived, and you ate with her and fucked her, and it all seemed so normal, as if you had been waiting just for her and she had been waiting for you. I never felt right being alone; sometimes it felt good but it never felt right.
— Charles Bukowski

I have simply looked at human relationships and tried to see them, tried to speak about them. That's what I am interested in. I don't know of anything more important.

Vuelta a España; 09.09.2017, Alto de l'Angliru
The truth is it has been a very, very special day. I think it's very difficult to say good bye in a better way than this, in this place, in this event. In the end, it's a full stop at the end of a career in which I have done everything I wanted. I think it's been a beautiful Vuelta even though I am not on the podium. But perhaps if I had been in contention for the overall podium I would have ridden in a different way, more conservative, and instead I have ridden the race I have ridden. I look at the photos, and almost every day there are pictures of me alone because I have been on the attack. [...] I think in the future it'll be remembered that in my last day of competition, I finished it with a win.

Walk this way ...
In landscape, each rock, each river, each tree has its individual history. A river's history, a tree's, is the sum of all its dialogues, nothing less but nothing more; they contain no emotion, no moral. Human cultures embellish these stories in gardens, buildings, and towns. Stories humans tell have a plot, often with beginning, middle, and end, a deliberate narrative: Stories of survival, identity, power, success, and failure. Like myths and laws, landscape narratives organize reality, justify actions, instruct, persuade, even compel people to perform in certain ways. Landscapes are literature in the broadest sense, texts that can be read on many levels.

You have power over your mind — not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.
— Marc Aurel
Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die.
— Mary Elizabeth Frye
