Sich immer wieder neuen Begegnungen und unerwarteten Situationen in der Gegenwart auszusetzen und daraus Anregungen abzuleiten setzt, als künstlerische Haltung verstanden, gestalterische Kräfte frei, die wiederum als Appell oder als Möglichkeit vom Kunstwerk in die Gesellschaft zurückwirken. Vom individuellen Empfinden ins gesellschaftlich-politische gedreht, kann Leichtigkeit dabei als eine Haltung gelesen werden, aus der heraus eine positive Bewegung, ein Aufbruch möglich ist. Kunst hat dabei den Vorteil, nicht umsetzen zu müssen, sondern Kunst weitet den Blick. Gemeinsam ist den Kunstwerken in dieser Gruppenausstellung eine materielle Leichtigkeit, ein Gefühl des Schwebens und eine Vorstellung von Utopie. Vor allem der künstlerische Einsatz von Beton und Glas reflektiert dabei auch die Architektur des Marler Rathauses.

[Ihre künstlerische Heimat ist ganz woanders.] Das ist Pina Bausch, ja. [Wie kam es dazu?] Pina hatte mich auf der Bühne gesehen und fragte mich, ob ich in einem Stück bei ihr mitmachen wollte, wo sie Schauspieler brauchte. Ich habe das erst gar nicht kapiert, ich habe das für Unfug gehalten. Ich hatte ihren Namen noch nie gehört, es war 1975, sie kannte kein Mensch. Da saß dann so eine Person, die schon anders aussah als andere Personen, das meine ich nicht nur äußerlich. Ich wusste nicht, dass ich da dann mein Leben verbringen werde. Ich fühlte mich sehr geliebt und ich habe die Lady auch sehr geliebt. Mit geliebt meine ich, man war auch gemeint. Die hat sich an mir gefreut und ich bin immer mutiger geworden.
