Café Müller war ursprünglich der Titel eines vierteiligen Abends, dessen Uraufführung vor 40 Jahren, am 20. Mai 1978, stattfand. [...] Anlässlich des Jubiläums und parallel zur Wiederaufnahme des Stücks durch das Tanztheater Wuppertal, präsentiert die Pina Bausch Foundation im November 2018 eine Ausstellung im Foyer des Wuppertaler Schauspielhauses. Die Ausstellung zeigt u.a. bisher unveröffentlichtes Foto- und Videomaterial aus dem Pina Bausch Archiv und umfasst ebenfalls Fotografien und Videoaufnahmen der drei weiteren, weitgehend unbekannten Choreographien. Die Foundation möchte die Besucher*innen dazu einladen, vor Ort Erinnerungen wachzurufen und neue Eindrücke von einem der wohl bekanntesten Stücke Pina Bauschs zu gewinnen.

In einer digitalen Welt werden Museen eher wichtiger. Sie sind Orte, an denen wir physische Objekte aufbewahren. Es gibt keinen Ersatz für einen Museumsbesuch. Die Gemälde wahrhaftig im richtigen Licht zu sehen, jede einzelne Kontur auch dreidimensional wahrzunehmen, ist wirklich einmalig. Es geht ja auch um gemeinsame Erfahrungen: Ein Gefühl für die Atmoshäre eines Raums zu bekommen, wie er ausgeleuchtet ist, wo Leute stehen bleiben, was sie reden — das hat man nur im Museum.
